Massive silver box with monogram AJ for cigarettes, cigars, tobacco – Old Russia 19th/20th c.

The box impresses with its solid craftsmanship and attention to detail. On the lid there is an engraved, decorative monogram, which gives the item a personal, unique character. The edges are adorned with delicate, embossed plant ornaments, and the whole is crowned by the noble shine of silver, which has acquired a beautiful, natural patina with age.
The interior of the box is smoothly finished, which shows care for aesthetics also in details not visible at first glance. The lid closes securely, with a characteristic “dry” snap, which ensures protection of stored cigars or cigarettes from drying out.
