We present a unique porcelain figurine with a humorous motif of a cook, commonly called "Kuchcik" or "Master Chef", who with a ladle on his back catches a cat snacking from a large pot. This unconventional combination of humor and craftsmanship makes this item not only a decoration but also an excellent conversation piece.
The figurine comes from the manufactory in Polonne, operating in the former USSR (now Ukraine). It is hand-painted and decorated with subtle gilding, which emphasizes its high quality. The porcelain with a smooth, satin texture and carefully crafted details – from the cook's facial expression to the cat's fur – testify to the great artistic skill of the creators.
