Inlaid box from Kashmir, 19th century - wood, mother-of-pearl, bone
Unikatowa XIX-wieczna kaseta z Kaszmiru, rzeźbiona w drewnie i inkrustowana macicą perłową oraz kością. Rzadki okaz kolekcjonerski. Kaseta na grzbiecie pokrywki posiada przedstawienie świątyni oplatanej przez pnącza i kwiatostany. Unikatowm detalem są przedstawienia dwóch tygrysów, w kulturze indyjskiej, utożsamiane były one z symbolem Boskiej Mocy i władzy królewskiej. Partia boczna kasety, jest zdobiona podbnie do grzbietu, wszystko z dbałością o szczegół i detal. To uniakt, dla każego kolekcjonera, z pasją do kultury Indyjskiej.

The box is made of precious, hard wood, which served as the canvas for intricate decorations. The surface is richly carved and then inlaid with two contrasting materials: snow-white bone and iridescent mother-of-pearl. This technique, characteristic of high-end Kashmiri craftsmanship, required extraordinary patience and precision. Each element had to be perfectly fitted, creating a harmonious, geometric or floral composition, often referencing local motifs of Kashmiri papier-mâché.
