We offer you an exceptionally rare and spiritually expressive Orthodox icon from the 19th century, originating from Russia. It depicts a unique iconographic variant of the Mother of God, known as the "Spring of Life" ("Живоносный источник"). This is an exceptional work of sacred art that combines depth of faith, artistic craftsmanship, and historical value.
The icon is made using the traditional egg tempera technique on a solid wooden panel. Its dimensions (105 x 164 mm) suggest it was intended for private prayer in a home altar or a traveling iconostasis. The state of preservation of the object is very good, emphasizing its authenticity and the careful care of previous owners. The coloring, although faded by time, has retained its symbolic depth, and the gilding (probably background or halos) still shimmers with a subtle glow.

Why is this icon unique?
- Rarity of the depiction: The "Spring of Life" type is less common than the well-known images of Hodegetria or Eleusa, giving the icon special collector's value.
- Authenticity and origin: A 19th-century Russian icon, created during the flourishing period of this art, with clear workshop characteristics.
- State of preservation: Very good technical condition of the panel and paint layer without major damage.
- Spiritual dimension: This is not only a collector's item but above all an object of worship, carrying with it the history of prayers and spiritual quests.
