Duży mosiężny kinkiet w stylu Księstwa Warszawskiego z Orłem Polskim - XIX/XX w.—
€80.46
We present an exceptional, large wall sconce cast from solid brass, whose form and decorations directly refer to the dignified style of the Duchy of Warsaw era. The central and most spectacular element of this lighting antique is a relief, majestic Polish Eagle – a national symbol of historical significance, which gives the item a unique, patriotic character.
The sconce is characterized by solid workmanship, a heavy, decorative base, and a classic, arched arm holding the lampshade (whose condition and type we suggest clarifying upon inspection). The stylistics refer to the Empire style – an artistic trend popular in the early 19th century, characterized by symmetry, monumentality, and motifs referring to antiquity and national symbolism. Such items were often created at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries as an expression of respect for tradition and history.
Uniqueness and collector's value:
- Rarity: Wall lighting with such a clear motif of the White Eagle from the historicism period is an object sought after by collectors of militaria, Varsaviana, and patriotic items.
- Material and craftsmanship: Brass guarantees durability and a noble appearance, which over time acquires a beautiful patina.
- Decorative functionality: It is not only a light source but above all an impressive wall decoration for stylized interiors, studies, libraries, or places of a patriotic character.
- Investment in history: Items with such clear national symbolism and high quality of workmanship are constantly increasing in value.
